This weekend, millions of pounds of trash will be picked up across the world, thousands of pounds will be picked up across Volusia and Flagler counties, and hundreds of people will help make that happen. International Coastal Cleanup Day, known as the world’s largest volunteer effort to help protect oceans, lakes and rivers, was created more than 30 years ago by two women from the Ocean Conservancy.
